Cote d'Azur

Brian, Anna and I will be embarking on quite the adventure this summer. Part of our trip will include what is called "Cote d'Azur" a stretch of coastline in the Provence region of France. Well known for it's lavender, beautiful beaches and yacht gawking. We'll be staying in the city of Cannes (known for it's film festival) and traveling up and down the coast most likely by train. I visited this region last November with some friends, they ran the Nice-Cannes Marathon, and I watched, cheered, and hung out with Ava. Cannes is also where Ava buried Elena's phone in the sand. Today while I was checking out CNN - I saw this article on the area and thought I'd share.

The next three blogs will be all about the south of France. Nice, Cannes, Antibes and Biot.

Nice:

Apparently when you catch an octopus you have to beat it on the ground a lot RIGHT AWAY! I guess this makes it tender?!

New Blog..cause one is never enough.

Yes, I started a new blog. Yes, it's all photography. I know you're asking yourself "isn't this blog all photography?!" and the answer is yes, for the most part I shut my mouth and post photos of my adorable child and dogs. Every once in awhile I throw in a husband. So I guess you could say this new blog is other peoples kids. I should have named it that "blog of other peoples kids". Too late.

Carter Kokoszka is my first blog post.

I met Carter's mom Brenna through a mutual friend here in Katterbach. We both have PCOS, and at the time were both trying to have babies. Carter is 3 months younger than Anna, but as you can see, just as long! And like a good little man, takes a binky!! One of the few photos you'll ever see of Anna crying, not because I won't post them, but she doesn't cry much. This I'm sure will come back to bite me on baby #2.

Reading is FUN!!!

teething isn't.

I must say Brian and I are very lucky parents. Anna is one of the easiest, happiest, low maintenance babies ever. Of course I'm no baby expert, but I have found whenever I'm in the grocery store line, a play group or just in public people always love to talk to babies - then tell you horrible stories about some baby they "know". "I have this friend...her baby cries ALL THE TIME". Thankfully our little Anna doesn't. We should have named her Anna Happy Go Lucky Smit. Of course I've been forewarned: If you have a happy baby; you'll have a miserable toddler. Talking to the lady in the passport office one day about what a good baby Anna is and that I worry about this "miserable toddler" stage, she said "giiirl take what you can get, I ain't never met a toddler that won't miserable, just wait till she's 16". Our baby girl just hasn't been the same this past week and I have to admit my friend Elena called it - more than once. About 2 weeks ago, she said "her gums look really white, I think she's teething" I proceeded to give Elena the look of death - I'm not ready for teeth!! Although Anna might be, she was eyeing my cheeseburger the other night. Saturday she started ear pulling - and again yesterday while we were at a play date at a friends house. Several moms said ear infection, but Elena stuck to her guns and called teething again. Today I took her into the clinic. "No ear infection, she's probably just teething".
