Oktoberfest - Munich, Germany

There is one and only Oktoberfest. It happens once a year in Munich, Germany and this year - we couldn't skip out!

We had a great group that went with us - I think total we may have seen/hung out with 30 or so people that we knew from Ansbach. We also met 2 couples from Poland who were a blast and spoke very little English - after a few beers, it didn't matter.

We didn't have our camera with us (new one in the mail!!) so I will have to wait till I get all the photos from our friends Kennedy and Bredan Fergus. You have to get there early to get a seat - we were there just after 9am and still not all of us were able to sit at the same table or even close to each other - and you have to be sitting in a seat - at a table to get served. (Beer or food!)

Here are a few and I'll post the rest at some point!

WELCOME TO OKTOBERFEST!

Visting Brian.

I missed Saturday - but whos counting? Right? I was very lucky yesterday to have a good friend of mine from high school, David Losh (or just Losh as he is often refered to as) come visit. He's been in Berlin for the past week working and decided to drive down for a visit yesterday. Losh and I hit up Nürnberg (Nuremberg) for the day - he got to experience the 'Nürnberger' sandwich (3 sausages on a piece of brot or roll) and we had beer in a local beer garden. After looking for the car for a solid hour and a half - thanks to Betty - our GPS - we decided to hit up a local sushi place for dinner. We spent the evening looking at wedding photos of Brian and I and talking about wedding stuff (Losh is getting married next year).

Losh headed back to Berlin this morning and it was great having our THIRD visitor since we moved here!!! I headed off to Grafenwoehr to visit Brian on medevac duty. He's out there this week with my good friend Kennedy's husband, so Kennedy, her two daughters, Brighid and Keara, and our dogs headed for Graf. It was a pretty low key day. The girls all headed to the Graf PX for a little shopping and taco bell for the boys while they did some medevac training with the Germans.

I'm ready for Tuesday to come and Brian will be home again for I think a whole 2 weeks! Woohoo!

Estella Madalyn Guthrie

Today I'm gonna give some props to my cousin, Daniel and his girlfriend, Amanda on the newest addition to the family. Estella Madelyn Guthrie was born Sept 12 at 1:52am weighing in at 6lbs 15oz. The photo is her hospital photo and I think she is adorable!

(Brian, Cole, Kyla & Ginger in Salzburg, Austria)

I thought I would take the time today to start a much needed blog for Brian and I. I feel as though I've been slacking off at keeping our family and friends informed of what has been going on since we moved to Germany.

I did however pick a pretty boring week to start this. Brian is out on Medevac duty in Grafenwoehr, Germany until next Tuesday. I'm at home holding down the fort with Kyla and Ginger.

It's been chilly here the past few days highs in the 40s and of course cloudy and rainy. These are the days I miss Savannah and south Alabama!

This past week my Aunt Chris came to visit and we ventured all over eastern Germany, Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic. I think we both enjoyed Prague the most. (Sadly it was in Prague when my camera decided it had enough and stopped working! It's been a good little camera for almost 3 years so I can't complain, but as soon as my auntie sends me some photos, I will upload them.) It was a crazy week, but tons of fun and I'm glad she got to visit while the weather was still good (for most of the week!)
