What else...more snow of course!
Brian and I were both off today (I love federal holidays!) So we wrapped up our four day weekend with a lot of laying around the house and walking down to our favorite duck pond in the snow. I cleaned out the cabinets yesterday and found some yummies for the ducks. It started snowing about the time we got half way down the hill and didn't stop till after we got home. It's been a slow steady snow on and off all day long.

A fox in our neighbors yard. As we walked up the hill we can see part of his driveway the the little fox was just laying there in the snow. So sad.

Snow...Snow...Snow...and a hole in my bumper.
It's been a fun filled week here for the Smits. I've been busy back at work with people pounding down my door to get their taxes done. Fun times. To top it all off, last friday, yes LAST FRIDAY (we're going on 7 full days of fun filled coughing) I came down with Bronchitis. BLAH! Yesterday was horrible and after a week of working with it, I called all my friday appointments and squeezed them in between clients on Thursday or rescheduled them till later. So this morning I was able to sleep in and catch some much needed zzzz's and run a few errands.
So not only have I been sick, but it's been snowing everyday like a mad man. It snows, melts, snows, melts, snows, melts you get the picture. A little melting today, but for the most part it's hanging around.
Tuesday and Wednesday the roads weren't too bad, both times melted enough (after sanding) to be able to make it to work on time. Well Thursday they seemed pretty bad, so I held out for a bit since my drive to work these days are small winding roads for 28K - which takes me just at 30 minutes. I took the dogs out to one of our favorite fields to play in the snow since they don't get as much run time these days since I started back to work.
Well I ended up leaving home around ten and heading into work. I was about 3K from work when I hit some ice, spun around, hit a 25 meter road marker and a town sign. I ripped a nice size hole in the front of my bumper, ripped my license plate right off and took off a trim piece. I picked up my broken bumper pieces and continued onto work.
Brian has been busy at work this week. He'll be leaving for the LAST medevac duty at Hohenfels that Cco has to pull! The 214th will be taking over March 1. So Brian's company can go to Iraq sometime this summer. So he'll be leaving next week for that - it flows right into the company's deployment training in March and he'll finally return home around the 13th. Just in time for me to head to Garmisch for two weeks for work. So we're not going to be seeing much of each other in the next month or so, but that's ok. It makes me like him a lot more. ;)
