Anna's new ride!

We have a great Quinny stroller for walks, but it's not a great around town, break down, travel stroller, it's a walking stroller. It's a shame we still have 8-10" of snow on the ground and haven't really been walking anywhere with a stroller. I will say that is one thing I miss about Dietenhofen, lots of paved trails around our house/town. Out here in the boonies...wait Dietenhofen was in the boonies too, well out here in the other boonies, not so many paved trails. We do have our favorite field, which is covered in snow. Since that rodent saw his shadow a few weeks ago, it looks like we'll have snow on that field for a few more weeks. Soooo anywho, back to the new ride.

Chic 4 Baby is a German brand that makes your run of the mill kinderwagens. www.chic4baby.de but recently started making travel systems (a lighter kinderwagen ...err stroller) We'll be pimpin' the 'Travel Star' in dark gray and purple. We debated color for MONTHS. Let's just hope they come out with better seat colors before we have a boy.

This is our big pimpin' Quinny. It doesn't look a lot different, but the 4 large wheels make a huge difference. It is very similar in that it has a frame, can have a bassinet, a car seat or a toddler seat. The toddler seat faces forwards and backwards.

my favorite golden...Cooper

My good friend Cooper, you may remember him from the maternity photos, LOVES Anna. Loves her soooo much he found one of her Nuks the other day while I was at Erika's Valentines Party. He was just strolling around the house with it in his mouth when I saw him and got Erika to snap a quick photo!

Note: this was not a posed photo! He was actually walking around with it in his mouth JUST LIKE THAT!!

Nuk. My new favorite word.

Like her mom and dad, Anna loves to eat. LOVES IT. She really loves to eat all day like me. Her biggest problem is 1. she eats too fast and 2. she passes out after one boob. This leaves mommy in a pickle. So I pump the other boob and when she wakes up hungry an hour later, she gets a bottle. This is also nice because then I can leave her with others when I need to and she'll take a bottle. I was first introduced to Nuk bottles at the hospital. It was the type of bottle/nipple that her sugar water came in. Don't ask me about sugar water. I can't explain it, it's a German thing. I just did what the nurses and Frau Wagner told me. Again 5200 babies.

So the past two weeks Anna's been getting an Avent bottle. She never really ate well from it, but it worked. Then a few days ago, she was fed up (pun intended) and that was the end of the Avent bottle. So then we tried the Dr. Browns. At first she was a fan, but that was short lived. I went back to what I knew. I first started looking for the Nuk (just like the binky) bottles at the PX and online, nothing. I hoofed it over to Kaufland and hunted them down! Success! So long story short, we're back in business with bottles and someone is super happy. I love the Nuk's because they are so very similar to her breast feeding latch, so no nipple confusion and they have a fancy hole in the top that lets air out. Less spit up. YAY!

This is the shape of the nipple (although we use the clear ones)

and one of our FANTASTIC new bottles, just boiled, washed and ready to go!!!

See you later maternity clothes!

All boxed up. I will say the one thing I didn't pack up was the AWESOME cross over sweatshirt wrap thingy I got from Old Navy for $8 - best $8 I ever spent on clothes! (pictured below in the photo of me sitting on the couch holding Anna). I was 115lbs pre-baby and I'm back down to 120 (I gained 26lbs while pregnant)! I guess I really should start working out now. Wait..does snow shoveling count? Yesterday's snowfall was insane (horrible wet heavy snow!).

Rumor has it that we are suppose to get 57* weather on TUESDAY. See ya later snow! We've had snow on the ground for over a month and I'm done! Then again, not looking forward to the mud attached to 8 paws when its all gone.

Edit: it ended up being a high of 29* so much for rumors!

BumGenius 3.0s!

We now have a happy cloth diapered baby. woohooo! See ya later Pampers and Huggies. Even though she doesn't look so thrilled to be having her picture taken, she's pretty psyched about less trash and helping the earth 500 years from now when we are long gone.
